Scopic examinations

Through a scopic examination (endoscopy) the inner part of the digestive tract can be inspected. The doctor inserts a scope (a long thin flexible tube with a video camera fitted at the head of the tube) and the intestine can be assessed via video pictures on a TV screen.

The doctor will perform the examination and a nurse is always present throughout the examination.
